| Ok this is a question which people have been going on for a long time. Is photorealism ok? or should portraits look more like a painting or drawing? Also is using refs ok? What is your thoughts.

I think Photorealism is great, as long as it is not a way to judge all other pieces of art. for example, at my school, it is common for many of my classmates to pass over an amazing, abstract or conceptional piece, and go and gawk at a realistic, photorealism style piece. They don't understand that art is not only the illusion an artist can create that something is real. Use of references is also a great way to create relistic pieces, and helps many artists to make their art believable. My answer to both of these Q' is that both are exellent additions to the artistic community. _________________ /l、

| I like photorealism up to the point where you can no longer see that it's drawn. That's just a waste of your talents I think then. Might as well take a picture. I like it when you can still see pencil strokes and little imperfections that make a drawing, a drawing.
